Download XperiFirm 5.3.7 for latest stock FTF firmware for all Sony Xperia devices

Updated October 12, 2018: Download latest XperiFirm 5.3.7 for all Sony Xperia devices with better stability. XperiFirm lets you download and install full stock firmware FTF Sony files based on Android 9.0 Pie and Android 8.0 Oreo.

The major Japanese smartphone manufacturer Sony has been rolling out the latest Android 9.0 Pie and 8.0 Oreo firmware update for many of the Xperia XZ and XA series devices. Normally, your device would receive the software update over-the-air (OTA). However, for the users who have rooted their Android or setup a TWRP recovery, the OTA won’t be of much use. Hence, you will need the full stock firmware and use it to restore Sony Xperia device to complete stock.

The Xperia Z or X series stock firmware files come in FTF format. This is a special format designed exclusively for the Sony smartphones. You can download it using the XperiFirm to get the direct download link from the Sony servers or you can simply connect your Sony Xperia device via Sony PC Companion and flash the latest updates. How to download Full Stock FTF firmware for Sony Xperia using XperiaFirm

For reference, we have used the Sony Xperia X latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OTA update and how to download it using the latest XperiaFirm v5.0.0. Download latest Android 8.0 Oreo+ firmware update for Xperia XZ2, XZ2 Premium, XZ2 Compact, XZ3, and more.

Step 1: Download and extract the XperiFirm.zip file. Run the XperiFirm_500.exe file. The file is at the bottom.

Step 2: You will see a list of Sony Xperia devices. Select your device.

Step 3: Select the Xperia device variant or region it belongs to. Now double-click the Available Firmware button on the right panel (right under the device image). Start downloading.
