OnePlus released their latest software version called Oxygen OS 11 for the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro recently. While Android 11 has its own perks, the software experience really depends on the implementation from the third-party OEMs. In this case, OnePlus’ implementation of Oxygen OS 11 has its downsides. One of the most frustrating things the OnePlus 8 series users are facing in some regions is the lack of VoLTE and VoWiFi options.
Don’t get me wrong, the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and 8T are fully capable of VoLTE and VoWiFi. It’s just that, for some reason, the manufacturer removed the VoLTE and VoWiFi options from some of the OnePlus 8 variants. This is especially true for the global variants found in North America. As for the Indian variants and the EU variants, you most likely won’t need the following guide.
If your OnePlus 8 device lacks VoLTE and VoWiFi, here is a simple guide to enable it. What we are doing here is simply downgrading the OnePlus LogKit APK to the OnePlus 7 version. This is because the Function Switch option is missing from the stock OnePlus 8 LogKit APK. The OnePlus 7 LogKit version perfectly works on the OnePlus 8 and also has the options to enable VoWiFi and VoLTE.
Troubleshooting: Now, before you go through the following guide, make sure you actually have the VoLTE and VoWiFi options enabled. Go to Settings > Network & Connections > Mobile Networks > VoLTE. As for the VoWiFi, you will most likely see the toggle in the Quick settings panel. Simply swipe down the notification panel down twice. You can also dial *#800# on your phone.
How to Enable VoLTE and VoWiFi on OnePlus 8 Series.
This method involves downgrading the OnePlus LogKit APK to the OnePlus 7 version. So it is highly recommended that you back up the existing LogKit APK on your OnePlus device. The easiest way to backup any APK is by using a simple tool called APK Extractor from the Play Store.
Extract the original LogKit APK and keep a backup.
Download the new LogKit APK from Gdrive, or Box Mirror, or Direct Link.
Install the downloaded LogKit APK.
Open the Dialer app on your phone.
Dial *#800#
This should open the LogKit interface.
Scroll to the bottom and select the Function Switch option.
Select VoLTE and when prompted to reboot, press cancel.
Select VoWifi and when prompted to reboot, press OK.
Let the phone reboot.
You should now see VoLTE & VoWifi enabled.
Optionally, you can now reinstall the backup LogKit APK you took from OnePlus 8 series. The VoLTE & VoWifi should still be enabled when you reinstall the backup.
