With the launch of Google Pixel phones, including the original Pixel and the XL, came a lot of different Google products and services. The most surprising service was the company’s very own Google Assistant. Just like Siri for iPhone and the Cortana from Microsoft, the Google Assistant is backed by an adaptive Artificial Intelligence technology. The assistant service is only available for the Google pixel phones. Although, it should be released publicly on the Play Store anytime this year, the assistant service can only be used via the Allo app for now. Allo, as we know is the new messaging app form Google and is not doing quite well as compared to other messaging apps like Whatsapp or Telegram.
As the Google Assistant app is not available on Google Play Store, Fknt00 has come up with a Assistant Enabler package that will install the Assistant on your Android device running Android 7.0 Nougat or later. The Google Assistant is compiled for only SDK 24 or later and devices running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow support Android apps with SDK 23.
Most of the new Google apps and services support Android 7.0 Nougat or later like the latest Google Pixel Launcher and Pixel Launcher Icons. This is an attempt from Google to encourage more and more Android devices to run Nougat.
Here is a brief installation guide that will install the latest Google Assistant version onto your Android device. As the Assistant Enabler package is a flashable zip file, it can be installed via TWRP recovery only.

How to Install Google Assistant on any Android device?
Before you begin, make sure you have an Android device with an unlocked bootloader and a custom TWRP recovery installed. And also make sure your device is running on Android 7.0 Nougat or later.
Here is how to install Google Assistant via TWRP –
- Download and transfer the Assistant Enabler int your device’s internal storage.
- Reboot into TWRP recovery
- Tap on Install and select the Assistant_Enabler.zip file
- Swipe to install
- Reboot to system

The Google Assistant shortcut in most cases is the long press of the Home Button. You can also assign the shortcut from settings. If Google Assistant doesn’t show up, then go to the Google app info and wipe its data. The app supports English and German languages. Make sure Search assistant shortcut is different to Google Assistant. For OnePlus 3/3T users, the app starts by holding the finger print scanner for 1 sec.
