Back when Google released a new Android 6.0 version, the LG G3 device was among the first few devices to have received the Marshmallow update following the Nexus devices. Now most of its variants have received the update and developers and Android enthusiasts have successfully rooted and installed TWRP recovery on the LG G3 D855 device. The Marshmallow comes to LG with all the new features from the latest Android 6.0 software and the manufacturer has done a great job releasing the update so early. A new LG UI has been incorporated within the update and as it performs a clean install, you will lose all the root access and system modifications if you have done any. However now, a new Root method is available for its stock Marshmallow firmware.
Getting straight to the point; a temporary root is possible by KingRoot.apk file alone. Once you root your device, you will need to install TWRP recovery using AutoRec application designed especially for Marshmallow firmware on LG G3 D855. The AutoRec will also unlock the bootloader which is essential to setup TWRP. KingRoot will grant temporary root access to AutoRec. It’s an automated method and all you need are the files listed below and a compatible device. Once you setup TWRP, flash the latest SuperSU package from it. Just make sure you backup everything from within the recovery. This method has been tested working on the latest D85530B firmware. Hence, it should work on firmware lower or equivalent to the one listed. Now let’s begin with the tutorial.
