Xposed Framework is quite popular among Android enthusiasts especially because it enables the user to get additional features and functionalities on the Android system. Xposed enables the user with ultimate set of customization on any Android phone. Its various modules like Assistant enabler, Android N-ify, Kernel tweaker, Gravity box, etc are some of the foundations of Xposed modules. Xposed was updated to version 88 in support for the Nougat and Marshmallow based ROMS. Now, the developer has deployed Xposed v89.
Xposed developer rovo89 finally released another version of Xposed in support for the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat firmware. The developer says, that Xposed for Oreo is almost ready with 95% of the work done. Only a few area needs compiling and we may soon see Xposed framework for Android 8.0 Oreo and 8.1 Oreo. Meanwhile, download and install Xposed v89 for stability and pre-Oreo build.
All you need to do is have the latest TWRP recovery installed on your device. You will also need root access on your device. There are 2 ways to root your Android phone. One is the SuperSU method and the other is Magisk method. So it is better to root using Magisk and activate the Xposed Magisk module. This will save you some extra efforts of setting up 2 separate apps for Xposed and root.
Things you need to do before you install Xposed framework:
- Unlocked Bootloader is a must. This is to ensure TWRP recovery installation and rooting your Android devices. See some of our tutorial for reference on OnePlus Oxygen OS, LG, Huawei etc.
- Make your Android device is rooted. Get to know how to root your device via SupaerSU. Alternatively, you can choose Magisk root method.
- Make sure you have latest custom TWRP recovery installed.
- Go to developer option and enable Advanced Reboot.
